Tirée du recueil « Chansons du vieux Québec », cette chanson nous est parvenue à travers le répertoire de Josiane Hébert.  Elle en a d'ailleurs enregistrée une très belle version avec son excellent groupe « Galant tu perds ton temps ».   En voici ici une interprétation légèrement trafiquée…

Originally from the collection Chansons du vieux Québec, this song came to us via the repertoire of Josiane Hébert, who herself recorded a lovely arrangement of it with the group Galant tu perds ton temps. The song details a naval battle where a petty officer is gravely injured; his one regret before dying is that he will never see his girlfriend again. Seriously, that’s pretty much all that happens in the song, you’re really not missing much.(je sais pas quoi en penser…faudrait demander à quelqu’un qui parle anglais…je trouve que ce n’est pas nécessairement la bonne chanson pour faire une farce ironique mais bon…)
